Project 12 - Resolution

January's theme for Project 12 is resolution.  I toyed with idea for many of my resolutions for this year: losing 20 pounds, getting organized, growing my business, etc.  But this little gem was something that I never really gave THAT kind of thought but is truly important to me this year.

Getting my husband and son together more.  Sure they spend time together at home, but my son and I are the ones that get out together the most.  It's those times where we bond the most.  Introducing him to the world around us is one of my favorite parts of being a parent.  I'm sad that my husband doesn't get the time with him like I do because of an ever changing work schedule and deployments.  So here is my most important "resolution" for 2012.

They're HERE!

So after much anticipation, a holiday rush, and an added dose of patience on my part, THEY have finally arrived.  I patiently waited all day for the FedEx man to arrive at my doorstep.  Finally I had to leave for the grocery store as we were gone all last week and had no food in the house.  Of course once I left, he showed up.  But, no worries!  He left me a hefty box on the front porch.

TA DA!

I call the three 8x10 frames in the center the "Patriotic Collection".  Want one for yourself?  Well, now's your chance.  The first person to book a session for 2012 will get their choice of a custom single 8x10 frame.

Don't miss out!  These puppies are custom made and beautiful!  I can't wait to hang them on my wall!

2012! Hip Hip Hooray!

Well, I haven't kept up with this blog as well as I would have liked.  So my resolution to you this year it to try a little harder.  I will post the same previews here that I will on Facebook

I will also be using this website to host my participation in MCP Action's Project 12.  This will include once per month submissions of creative photography.  While this is a little bit different than what I do for Sweet Caroline Photography, it helps feed my creativity for portrait sessions.  New camera angles, locations, and ideas spawn from creative photography projects.  I will set up a label for Project 12 so that this place is a little more organized.

Also here's the BIG DEAL!  To start off 2012, the first customer to book a session will recieve a free 8x10 single frame from The Organic Bloom!  Don't let this offer pass you by, be the first to book today!

Farm Fresh Wishes

I had the honor of being the event photographer for the Make-A-Wish foundation's Farm Fresh Wishes fundraising dinner this year.  It was held at the Clinton Library here in Little Rock.  I had never been inside the library until this event and it's really quite amazing.  This was a wonderful event and I got meet many extraordinary people.  Here is a peek into the evening.

Local chefs created dishes made with local farm raised or grown foods.  We did have one slip up and they used Alabama cheese.  That did not go over so well with this Arkansas crowd, especially since the Arkansas v. Alabama football game was that weekend.

This lovely lady got quite the surprise this evening.  She was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer at thirteen.  She is now fifteen and three months in remission.  Her wish is to go to Australia.  Well folks, she found out it was granted.

Hosto, Buchan, & Prater, a local legal firm, sponsored her wish to make it come true.

I was truly blessed to get to be a part of such a wonderful event and get to see the face of a wish granted by this wonderful organization.
